What the game keeps on your device

So that it can pick up where you left off, Kahtzee stores a few things locally — in the app's own settings storage on Android, or in your browser's local storage on the web:

• the two cats that were last picked
• the house rules you turned on, such as stealth mode and lion mode
• how many dreamies each cat has won
• on the website, one flag remembering that the opening animation has played

None of it leaves your device, and none of it identifies you. Clearing the app's data, or the site data for kahtzee.com, removes all of it.

What we collect

Nothing. No accounts, no sign-in, no email address, no contacts, no location, no advertising identifier, no cookies, no analytics or tracking software, and no third-party scripts of any kind. The website loads only its own files — the fonts included.

The Android build

The app asks for no permissions and makes no network requests. It plays entirely offline, on one device, between two people.

Server logs

kahtzee.com is served from Google Cloud Run. Like any web server, it records ordinary request logs — IP address, timestamp, the page requested and the browser's user agent. They exist to keep the site running and to defend it against abuse, they are kept only briefly and then deleted, and they are never used to build a profile, never used for advertising and never shared or sold.

Children

Kahtzee is suitable for all ages. Because nothing is collected from anyone, nothing is collected from children either.

Your rights

Data-protection law gives you the right to see, correct, export or delete the personal data an organisation holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing on our side to hand over or erase. Everything the game remembers is on your device and entirely under your control.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes with it.
